Connector or custom?
The options

Odoo has no Shopify connector of its own

Odoo ships connectors for Amazon and eBay, not for Shopify. So every option means software outside the Odoo core: a third-party connector, a custom integration, or both.

Third-party connector

Shopify Odoo Connector, by Emipro

The best-selling Shopify connector on the Odoo Apps Store. Orders with their payment and customer, products and variants both ways, stock per Shopify location and Odoo warehouse, shipments, returns and refunds, Shopify Payments payouts, Shopify Markets and several stores. OPL-1, versions 8.0 to 20.0.

What we do: install it, configure it properly (numbering, taxes, which warehouse feeds the store) and extend it where your operation goes beyond the standard.

Keep in mind: it needs Emipro's base module (Emipro Connector Engine) plus Sales, Inventory and Invoicing, and it contains Python, so it does not run on Odoo Online.

On the Odoo Apps Store, €549 Price as listed on 17 October 2026. Emipro's app, not ours.

Built to order

Custom integration

On top of Emipro's connector or instead of it: against the Shopify API and Odoo's external API or a module of our own, with a queue and retries. Shopify webhooks are processed so that a delivery that arrives twice changes nothing.

It is the route when you have business rules of your own, catalogues that do not map cleanly, or flows the connector does not cover. Before going live we review variant and tax mapping with you.

Check this first

Where your Odoo runs decides what you can install

The Odoo Apps Store FAQ is explicit: third-party apps cannot be used on Odoo Online unless they are data-only modules with no Python files. Shopify connectors contain Python, whatever the store listing suggests.

What flows

What we automate

  • Every Shopify order lands in Odoo as a sales order, with its customer and lines.
  • Stock synced both ways, across several warehouses, with rules for conflicts.
  • The invoice comes out of Odoo Accounting with the right tax.
  • Product variants matched by SKU between Shopify and Odoo.
  • Refunds and returns reflected in Odoo without breaking stock.
  • Shopify retries never duplicate orders or stock moves.
Where it goes wrong

Four things to settle early

Variants are not modelled the same way

Shopify limits options per product and Odoo works with attributes and variants. A catalogue with sizes and colours is where most automatic syncs fail if there is no clean SKU on both sides.

Taxes: mapping rates is not enough

You have to decide which Odoo tax applies to each Shopify line, and what happens with cross-border EU sales and the One-Stop Shop (OSS). Leave the default mapping and the VAT return comes out wrong.

Stock across several warehouses

Shopify works with locations; Odoo with warehouses and internal locations. Which warehouse feeds the store, and what happens to reserved stock, is a business decision no connector makes for you.

Shopify Payments and reconciliation

Shopify pays out in batches with its fee already deducted. If the order reaches Odoo but the payment is not reconciled against the payout, the bank does not match at month end.

How we work

From the first call to live orders

  1. 01

    30-minute call

How you sell today, where Odoo is hosted, and what breaks.

  2. 02

    Scope

Connector, custom build or both, with what each flow does. A fixed quote, not an hourly meter.

  3. 03

    Build and test

On a test database first, reviewing variant and tax mapping with you before anything touches production.

  4. 04

    Go live

Switch over, watch the first days of orders and hand over the documentation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Odoo have a native Shopify connector?

No. Odoo ships its own connectors for Amazon and eBay, but not for Shopify. What exists for Shopify comes from third parties or is built to order. Check your version anyway, as Odoo adds modules with every major release.

Which Shopify connector do you recommend?

The best-selling one on the Odoo Apps Store is the Shopify Odoo Connector by Emipro, and it covers the standard flows well. We install it, configure it and extend it where your operation goes beyond it. When the connector does not fit, we build the integration to order.

Can I use a Shopify connector on Odoo Online?

No. According to the Odoo Apps Store FAQ, third-party apps cannot be used on Odoo Online unless they are data-only modules with no Python, and Shopify connectors contain Python. With Odoo Online, the route is Odoo's external API, which Odoo only opens on the Custom plan. To install a connector you need Odoo.sh or on-premise.

Can it live alongside a connector I already have?

Yes. If you already run Emipro's connector or another one from the Odoo Apps Store, we keep it and complete it where it falls short, instead of replacing it for the sake of it. We review your operation first so we do not break what already works.

Does it sync stock across several warehouses?

Yes. With several warehouses in Odoo, Shopify gets the right available quantity for each location, following the allocation rules you set.

Tell us how you sell. We tell you which route fits.

30 minutes, no strings. You leave knowing whether the connector is enough or what needs building.
