Scope

What exactly we audit

It is not a list of generic checkboxes. It is a technical sweep of the 6 areas where most SME stacks carry hidden debt.

01

Holded — configuration and health

Correct series and numbering, chart of accounts, duplicate contacts, orphaned catalog, broken automations, users and permissions, certificates, native integrations that are active vs dead. We tell you what is fine, what needs adjustment and what is silently broken.

02

Integrations and connections

A map of everything that goes in and out of Holded: webhooks, syncs, APIs, cron jobs. For each one: is it idempotent? does it have retries? is anyone monitoring it? what happens if Holded responds with a 500? We identify the points where the system fails silently.

03

Automations and workflows

n8n, Make, Zapier, internal scripts. We review what exists, who maintains it, what broke 3 months ago without anyone noticing and where you are paying for licenses that go unused. We hand you a list of what to consolidate, what to migrate and what to remove.

04

Data, reporting and metrics

Existing dashboards (Power BI, Metabase, Excel), the sources feeding each metric, which ones reconcile and which do not, which refresh automatically and which depend on someone remembering to update them. If there is data in 5 different places, we say so.

05

Compliance and risk

Verifactu (RD 1007/2023 + RD-ley 15/2025) — are you ready for your deadline? Change logs on invoices, hash chain, certificates about to expire. Basic GDPR: where personal data is stored outside the EU. We do not do a legal audit, but we do flag the obvious technical risks.

06

Prioritized roadmap

A list of improvements ordered by impact/effort (2x2 matrix). Cost and timeline estimate for each one. We distinguish the critical (it breaks something or gets you fined) from the tactical (it saves hours) from the strategic (it enables the next phase). You decide what you request, from whom and when.

What you take away

A serious deliverable, not an email.

The important part of the audit is not the conversation, it is the document that remains. Something you can present to the board, show the interim CTO, or use to request quotes from other teams without having to explain your stack from scratch again.

  • 15-25 page PDF report with findings, evidence and recommendations
  • Architecture diagrams of your current stack (how the data flows)
  • Prioritized list of actions with estimated effort/impact and cost ranges
  • 60-minute debrief session to review the report and answer questions
  • No commercial lock-in: the report is yours even if another team does the implementation
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why do you charge for an audit if the 30-minute call is free?

The free call is to understand whether we are a good fit as counterparts. A real audit takes 8-12 hours of our work: we request access, review configurations, map integrations, validate data, document findings. Charging for it lets us do the work properly without being fixated on closing the sale of the big project. And it filters for you: if the report tells you the problem is organizational and not technical, you have saved yourself hiring a dev you did not need. We share the cost after the 30-minute call based on your case.

What do you need from us to get started?

Read access to your Holded (auditor user or admin with read-only permissions), access to the relevant connected platforms (n8n, Make, dashboards, GitHub if there is custom code), and an initial 60-minute session with whoever knows the current stack. If part of it runs on your own VPS or internal servers, SSH access or meetings with your IT team. Nothing more.

Who does the audit?

It is done by Juan Cantón directly, not a junior, not a salesperson. The same technical profile who writes the posts on this blog and maintains n8n-nodes-holded on npm. We do not subcontract.

How is this different from a free consultation?

In the scope and the deliverable. A free consultation is 30 minutes and an informal opinion. An audit is 5 days of work, a written report you can show the board, verifiable evidence for each finding, and an actionable roadmap. If you present it internally and no one questions it, we have done the work right.

If we later hire you to implement, do you discount the cost of the audit?

Yes: if within 90 days of the report you hire us for a project, the cost of the audit is discounted from the first quote. It is not blackmail, it simply avoids you paying twice for the same discovery work.

Do you only audit Holded or other ERPs too?

Our specialty is Holded and its ecosystem. If your stack is A3, Sage, Odoo or another ERP, we can audit the integrations and automations around it but not the internal configuration of the ERP in depth. For that you would need a consultant specialized in that product.

And if during the audit you find something critical I was not expecting?

We tell you as soon as we find it, we do not wait to deliver the report. If it is a security vulnerability, an incorrectly issued invoice that could lead to a penalty, or an integration that is silently losing data, we call the same day.

Shall we request access and get started?

5 days, report in your inbox. Fixed scope, no lock-in and no recurring fee.
