Holded Slack integration
Holded notifications in the right Slack channels, without anyone having to open Holded.
Implementation time · 3-5 días laborables
The problem
Nobody on the team opens Holded except admin. The result: sales does not know when a customer signs without asking, finance does not learn about a payment until reconciliation catches up weeks later, the CEO only finds out about pending quotes when someone drops a screenshot in a chat. For companies with Slack as their communication backbone, leaving Holded out of the Slack flow means losing daily operational visibility. Zapier connectors or the Slack marketplace apps are shallow and do not handle filter logic well (only invoices above X euros, only for customer Y, etc.).
ProposalThe solution
Every relevant Holded event reaches the matching Slack channel: new invoices in #finance, payments received in #sales, signed quotes in #team, at-risk due dates in #collections. Customizable by event, channel and filters. It lets you handle basic actions from Slack (approve a quote, mark an invoice as paid manually) without opening Holded. Supports Slack Connect to share notifications with external customers in shared channels.
What we automate
- New invoice issued to #finance with amount, customer and Holded link
- Payment received to #sales plus a thread mentioning the responsible sales rep
- Quote signed to #team with a confetti emoji and celebration
- Due date -3 days to #collections with the customer's account owner mentioned
- Overdue to escalation: 3 days in #collections, 7 days with a CEO mention
- Filters: only invoices above 5,000 euros, only for customer X, only from a certain series
- Action buttons in Slack: 'approve quote', 'mark as paid'
- Slack Connect: external customers in shared channels receive their own events
Real use cases
These are the profiles that most ask us for the Holded ↔ Slack integration and what they get in the end.
B2B startup that celebrates signings
Before: The sales rep found out about their own signing when admin generated the invoice 3 days later.
After: Quote signed to a confetti notification in #sales right away. A visible culture of momentum.
Finance team with due dates to control
Before: Due dates only visible by opening Holded every day.
After: Every due date shows up in #collections with the owner mentioned. The CFO sleeps easy.
Agency with customers on Slack Connect
Before: An external customer asked about invoice status by email.
After: The customer's Slack Connect channel receives Holded events automatically. Zero questions.
What changes exactly
Without the integration
- Team with no visibility into Holded events
- Sales asking admin about payment status
- Due dates only visible by opening Holded
- External customers asking for status by email
With the integration
- Every event to the right Slack channel, in real time
- Sales sees their signings and payments without asking
- Due dates in a dedicated channel with the owner
- Slack Connect: customers see their own channel
How we build it
Holded webhooks to an endpoint that enriches the event (resolves the customer, sales rep, formatted amount, direct Holded link) and publishes via the Slack Web API to the right channel. The mapping logic (event plus filters to channel plus format) lives in versioned config. For interactive actions (buttons) we use Slack Block Kit plus interactive payloads. Nothing to install in your workspace beyond the official Slack app with minimal permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Is it customizable by channel?
Yes. We map each event type (invoice issued, payment received, quote signed, etc.) to its channel with optional filters (minimum amount, specific customer, series). Versioned config that you can adjust.
Does it work with Slack Connect (channels shared with customers)?
Yes. A customer with their own Connect channel automatically receives relevant events (invoice issued, upcoming payment). Useful for strategic accounts with high transparency.
Interactive action buttons?
Yes. Approve a quote, mark an invoice as paid manually, assign an owner. Every action is audited (who ran it, when, from Slack).
What about direct private messages?
Supported. For example: invoice above 10k euros plus a DM mention to the CFO. Or to the sales rep responsible for the customer when there is news.
Do I need Slack admin permissions?
Only to install the official Slack app the first time. After that no admin intervention is needed.
How long does it take?
Between 3 and 5 business days. Setups with many filters and interactive buttons can rise to 7-8.
