Holded Looker Studio integration
Looker Studio dashboards (free) with Holded data for fast, shareable reporting.
Implementation time · 5-10 días laborables
The problem
Companies on Google Workspace that want to see Holded data in nice dashboards usually end up pasting CSVs into Sheets every Monday. Looker Studio is free and native to the Google ecosystem, but connecting it to Holded requires an ETL pipeline: the Holded API does not connect directly to Looker. Without that layer, the only viable path is manual export, and that degrades the quality and frequency of the reporting.
ProposalThe solution
Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) is free and integrates naturally with Google Workspace. An ETL pipeline extracts Holded data into BigQuery or Sheets, and Looker Studio visualizes it with dashboards shareable by link. Ideal for Google-first companies that want BI with zero license cost and easy report sharing with clients or partners.
What we automate
- Daily extraction of Holded invoices, payments and expenses into BigQuery or Sheets
- Cashflow dashboard plus monthly P&L
- Customer ageing with color coding
- Year-over-year comparison of sales and margins
- Executive scorecard shareable by link
- Multiple entities with per-company filters
- Public reports for partners/investors without giving access to Holded
- Google Sheets integration for ad-hoc joins with other sources
Real use cases
These are the profiles that most ask us for the Holded ↔ Looker Studio integration and what they get in the end.
Agency on Google Workspace with client reports
Before: Client reports in Sheets updated by hand every month.
After: Looker dashboard shared by link with same-day data. The client sees updates live.
Startup with a monthly board that asks for KPIs
Before: A slide deck rebuilt each month with exported data.
After: A live dashboard in the board call, no static slides.
SMB looking for BI with no license cost
Before: They did not want to pay for Power BI/Tableau or set up Metabase.
After: Looker Studio for free. The ETL pipeline is the only thing they pay for (once).
What changes exactly
Without the integration
- Sheets pasted with CSVs every month
- Static slides in board calls
- Zero report shareability
- Dashboards with last month's data
With the integration
- Looker Studio with same-day data
- Live dashboards in the board
- Share by link without giving Holded access
- Reports always up to date
How we build it
Holded API to ETL (Cloud Functions or Cloud Run) to BigQuery to Looker Studio. For very small volumes it can go straight to Google Sheets. Looker Studio connects natively to both. The pipeline is deployed in your own GCP project so you keep control and traceability.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Looker Studio cost?
Free. The only thing you pay for are the Google Cloud services the pipeline uses (BigQuery usually costs less than 5 euros a month for an SMB).
And BigQuery, is it expensive?
For SMB volumes (tens of thousands of rows), the cost is cents a month. BigQuery charges for bytes processed and the free tiers cover most cases.
Can I share the dashboard with clients?
Yes, it is a native Looker Studio feature: a public link or one controlled by Google permissions. We never expose Holded, only the dashboard.
Looker Studio vs Looker (paid)?
They are different products. Looker (expensive, enterprise) has advanced semantic modeling. Looker Studio (free) is for fast visual dashboards. For SMB financial BI, Looker Studio is enough.
Multiple entities?
Yes. Each entity feeds the same BigQuery with a company dimension. Filters per dashboard depending on role.
How long does it take?
Between 5 and 10 working days. Very custom dashboards can go up to 12 to 15.
